In this tour, we will look at artifacts from the ancient world that include images of women, including goddesses and mortal women. We will look at images that were found in such contexts as everyday homes, grand villas, tombs, and temples. Along the way, we will see examples of how women were depicted in the ancient Middle East, Cyprus, Etruria, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
