The Rube Goldbergs: An Evening of New Music by the Students of PAT 461/561 Performance Systems
Join us for an evening with the students of the Department of Performing Arts Technology (PAT) 461/561 Performance Systems, aka The Rube Goldbergs, who will use computer networks, spatial audio, theatrical lighting, and custom systems to perform new music. The collective explores the integration of multimedia technology in collaborative music performance, where technology is positioned not only as an expressive medium but also as a conceptual catalyst for system design as an art form. Drawing from systems theory and cybernetics, the collective aims to understand and advance the role of technology in co-creative practices. The Rube Goldbergs are Michelle Boisvert, Scarlett Jiang, Victor Kim, Ian Rhee, Sasha Semina, Hyunkyung Shin, and Naomi Wolfe, under the guidance of faculty director Anıl Çamcı.
