A frequent visitor question is, “Where did we get all this stuff?” The Kelsey Museum’s collection was built through many paths, including University of Michigan–funded excavations and donations from individuals who once dreamed of opening their own museums. As we move through the galleries, we will focus on how the Kelsey acquired the Mediterranean, North African, and Middle Eastern artifacts found in its collection today.

This event is free and open to all visitors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please visit our accessibility page at https://myumi.ch/zwPkd or contact the education office by calling (734) 647-4167. We ask for advance notice as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
