Sometimes we talk about “ancient Rome” as if it were just one city, with everyone basically the same. In today’s tour, we will look at the diversity of the Roman provinces, from Egypt to Syria to Carthage and beyond. We will look at how trade, war, and the emperors themselves spread goods and beliefs around the Roman Empire. We will also consider some of the differences between the provinces.

This event is free and open to all visitors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please visit our accessibility page at https://myumi.ch/zwPkd or contact the education office by calling (734) 647-4167. We ask for advance notice as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
