Raise the Roof: The Musings of Michael Daugherty
Multiple Grammy-winning American composer Michael Daugherty has served on the faculty of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance for over 30 years. As his tenure here comes to a close, the Symphony Band celebrates his remarkable musical legacy with a concert of original music for band composed by Daugherty over the past quarter century. Highlights include his concerti for timpani and trombones, the world-famous "Bells for Stokowski" and a new setting of his "Cadillac Ranch" co-commissioned by the Symphony Band with the support of the H.
