Conversation with Charles Long
Once admiringly acknowledged, in the words of a Xhosa praise, as NguZanengxaki (“Bringer of Problems”), Charles H. Long’s work over the last fifty years has significantly explored and expanded the boundaries of the field of History of Religions. He is a Professor Emeritus from the UC Santa Barbara, University of Chicago, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University and Syracuse University, and the renowned author of Alpha, The Myths of Creation; The History of Religions: Essays in Understanding, ed. with Joseph Kitagawa; and Significations: Signs, Symbols and Images in the Interpretation of Religion.
