Step into the ancient world and discover the powerful roles animals played in everyday life, religion, art, and imagination. From sacred cats in Egypt to mythical beasts across the Mediterranean, this tour explores how ancient peoples understood the natural world and their place within it. Visitors will examine objects such as sculpture, pottery, jewelry, and ritual items to uncover the many meanings animals carried—as companions, symbols of power, divine messengers, sources of food and labor, and creatures of myth.

This event is free and open to all visitors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please visit our accessibility page at https://myumi.ch/zwPkd or contact the education office by calling (734) 647-4167. We ask for advance notice as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
