Join us to learn about the beauty, history, and cultural significance of Korean hanbok, one of Korea's most treasured cultural traditions. The presentation will discuss the differences in traditional and modern hanbok, and the colors, fabrics, designs, and symbols featured.

An introduction will also be given to Korean traditional wedding customs, including the Paebaek Ceremony, one of Korea's most meaningful wedding traditions.

Presented by Laura Park, a fourth-generation hanbok designer with over 36 years of experience, the program will explore how hanbok has evolved throughout history while preserving its elegance, symbolism, and cultural identity.

This event is part of Korea Week, and is held in partnership with the Ann Arbor District Library and the Korean Cultural Center of Washington D.C. For more information, visit https://aadl.org/koreaweek.

If there is anything we can do to make this event accessible to you, please contact us. Please be aware that advance notice is necessary as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
