An exceptional, integral isomorphism was found between the K-ring and Chow ring of the wonderful variety of a hyperplane arrangement in works of Berget--Eur--Spink--Tseng and Larson--Li--Payne--Proudfoot. I will discuss my work with Ethan Partida, where we examine this exceptional isomorphism from the point of view of formal group laws, and extend it to an exceptional isomorphism between the algebraic cobordism ring and (extended) Chow ring of the wonderful variety.
