The Open Questions Panel Series seeks to foster meaningful dialogue about (moderately) controversial topics relevant to the University of Michigan and to the general public. In a time of deep polarization, the panels are designed to support real dialogue and to encourage the respectful, open exchange of ideas. A panel is planned for each month of the 2026-27 academic year, from September through April. (Most events will occur on Thursdays in the late afternoon.) The series is hosted by the Faculty Senate Office and SACUA, in collaboration with the UM Ann Arbor chapter of the American Association of University Professors, Dialogue Michigan, the UM chapter of the Heterodox Academy, and Rackham Graduate School.
