Math Grad Show and Tell Seminar: Theoretical Crochet: A crossroads of graph theory, geometry, and cat toys
Renato Pinto Reveggino
In this talk I explain how I got into the hobby, and how I later learned that any crochet pattern can be expressed as a graph. Therefore any appropriate graph can be turned into a crochet pattern. Learn which graphs lead to which shapes when we keep all edges the same length, thereby uncovering the unprecedented utility of the single-stitch crochet. This could also be seen as a study on all surfaces one can build with equilateral triangles. This idea leads to a potentially novel algorithm which may revolutionize the hobby.
