Mountains around the world

Third Thursdays at the Library

Come explore mountainous areas of the world through materials from the International Studies collections.

From Everest to Puncak Jaya to the Matterhorn, tall peaks and mountain ranges capture the imagination and wonder of people from near and far. Gear up and accompany the International Studies team as we navigate experiences of mountaineers and pilgrims, visions from artists, writers, and religious figures, and the works that have resulted from dreaming and exploration.

Join us in International Studies, on the first floor of Hatcher North, for Third Thursdays at the Library, a themed monthly open house where we share materials from our collections.

While you’re here, pick up a Third Thursdays Passport and collect a stamp! Make it around to all four Third Thursday Open Houses — the Clark Library, International Studies, Asia Library, and the Special Collections Research Center — and win a prize!
