The rise and ramifications of Artificial Mathematical Intelligence
Tony Feng
Three years ago, I started tracking the mathematical capabilities of AI. In 2026 alone, AI went from solving its first real research problems, to solving a Millennium problem. I will briefly survey how modern AI systems are trained and operated, and then discuss my own takeaways from watching this saga unfold. Finally, I will bring up some proposals for how the mathematics community should adapt to AI.
