The Foreign Mother Tongue: Living and Writing as a Palestinian in Israel

Sayed Kashua, Author and Journalist

Sayed Kashua is the award-winning author of three novels and the creator of the groundbreaking sitcom Arab Labor, but he never feels at home. A Palestinian citizen of Israel, he is a walking, talking oxymoron, an invisible man constantly called upon to justify himself, his work and even his decision to write in Hebrew. Kashua will speak about what it's like to be a stranger in his own land, operating between two worlds, being tolerated by both but never fully belonging to either.
