Learn the rhythms in North Indian (or Hindustani) classical music through interactive exercises and visual media. Demonstrations on the tabla drums will accompany group participation using hand gestures and idiomatic syllables in simple rhythmic compositions. The workshop's focus will be on the 16-beat cycle known as tintaal, the most common beat cycle in Hindustani music.
