Israeli Composer and performer Esti Kenan-Ofri will trace some of the cultural itineraries of Judeo-Spanish melodies and lyrics around the Mediterranean basin. Examining both recorded and live performance, Esti Kenan-Ofri asks historical questions about origins while interrogating the expressive human spirit and the cultural mechanism of adopting and “updating” this musical tradition to specific cultural locations and moments.
