Rigidity in geometry

Under some assumptions, the metric on a Riemannian manifold can be determined from surprisingly little data: for instance, knowing the induced (chordal) metric on the boundary, or knowing the lengths of its closed geodesics. I will discuss some results of this nature, and hopefully give some indication of how one might prove them. Speaker(s): Salman Siddiqi (UM)
