Artin L-function is introduced as L-functions attached to characters of the Galois group in 1923 in hopes of developing a non-abelian class field theory by Emil Artin. Time permitting, I hope to discuss their role in the formulation of Langlands program. Speaker(s): Yiwang Chen (UM)
