Algebraic Geometry

Semi-Abelian Motives

These objects, in some form or another, have been studied the last twenty years by Rothstein, Laumon, Loeser-Sabbah, and more recently, by Bhatt, Schnell and Scholze. A formal definition will be given, and realizations, when the semi-abelian variety is a torus, will be discussed. The talk is based on work in progress with Deepam Patel. Speaker(s): Madhav Nori (University of Chicago)
