The Koinonia Trio was formed in Ann Arbor in September 2015. Their mission is closely related to their trio name, “Koinonia,” a transliterated form of a Greek word, which means “communion, joint participation.’ Since its formation, the trio has won the East Central MTNA Chamber Music Competition and was awarded a U-M Performing Arts EXCELerator Grant Fellowship.
