Cosmic far-infrared background (CIB) originates from unresolved, dusty star-forming galaxies across cosmic time. It probes the cosmic star-formation history and the connection between galaxies and dark matter halos. I will first present new models that help us interpret the CIB anisotropies observed by Planck. These models include a physical model of galaxy evolution and an empirical model based on UV and optical galaxy surveys. I will then discuss how we can optimize future CIB experiments for constraining cosmic star-formation history.
