A Hollywood celebrity, the Bad Boy of Music, and the development of spread spectrum communications

When the United States entered WWII, a glamorous Hollywood actress and a renegade composer collaborated on a plan for a new type of weapon. They were awarded a patent that has become one of the most highly cited patents in the field of modern digital communications. This talk describes the colorful history behind these developments.
