National Walking Day
Join U-M/Michigan Medicine in celebrating National Walking Day! DID YOU KNOW... the average American spends nine to 10 hours of their day sitting? It’s time to get out from in front of your screens and get active! There are two ways to join the National Walking Day movement on Wednesday, April 5:
• Virtually: Participate wherever you are by taking a short walk in, around or near your workplace on April 5. Post a pic with the hashtags #HealthyForGood or #UMHeartHeroes for a chance to win cool prizes!
• On-site: Visit us in the Towsley Triangle from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Grab an MHealthy walking map and take a self-guided walk inside or outside of the health system or join us for a staff-led walk, which begin at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 12:00 p.m. Learn Hands-Only CPR from the American Heart Association, buy a Heart Heroes t-shirt, or get information on the Washtenaw County Heart Walk/5K Run.
