Gerald Ross is one of America's best-known performers, entertainers and advocates for the ukulele. He’s comfortable with just about every type of Americana roots music, and he’ll play it all on ukulele and steel guitar. He's performed in concert with Bonnie Raitt, Arlo Guthrie and Doc Watson, and he has appeared many times on “A Prairie Home Companion”. In addition to his outstanding playing, Gerald Ross will give the audience a brief history of the origins of the ukulele and how it came into American culture. A historic ukulele is on display in the Stearns Collection exhibition in Gifts of Art Gallery — Cancer Center Elevator Alcove, Level 2: http://www.med.umich.edu/goa/exhibits.htm#stearns.
