U-M School of Music, Theater & Dance Professor Stephen Shipps enjoys a varied professional career as violinist, teacher, editor, administrator, adjudicator and commentator. The U-M Strings Program, of which he is chair, attracts some of the nation’s top students. For this performance, he will play a composition by Ysaÿe. His students will perform the following: Sarah-Catherine Shaw, Partita No. 2 in D minor by Bach; Landon Oja, Variations by Wieniawski and “Round of the Goblins” by Bazzini; and Grant Flick, jazz and bluegrass selections.
