Phil Levy is Senior Fellow on the Global Economy at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Adjunct Professor of Strategy at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He previously taught at Yale University, Columbia University, the University of Virginia, and Georgetown University.

From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Levy served first as senior economist for trade for President Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers and then as a member of Secretary of State Rice’s Policy Planning Staff, cover ing international economic matters.

Dr. Levy’s academic writings have appeared in such outlets as The American Economic Review, and World Trade Review. He is also a regular contributor to Forbes online. Levy has testified before multiple Congressional committees.

Dr. Levy received his PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 1994 and his AB in Economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1988, where he was News Editor of the Michigan Daily in 1987.

In Economics@Work, undergraduates are offered a regular opportunity to interact with alumni from the Department of Economics. Economics@Work is intended for students who are interested in learning about a variety of career opportunities for economics majors. Freshmen and sophomores may use this class to explore whether an economics major best suits their interests and goals. Juniors and seniors who are economics majors will benefit from the information and networking opportunities.
