Concert featuring SMTD faculty Matthew Bengtson and Penelope Crawford, fortepianos; Joseph Gascho, harpsichord; and Kola Owolabi, organ. The program will include Schubert lieder with guest soprano Ellen Hargis, a Mozart concerto with string ensemble, and J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Four Harpsichords.

7:00pm pre-concert lecture by Joseph Gascho.

The University of Michigan will host the 2018 Conference of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America (HKSNA) in Ann Arbor, May 9-12. The organization is devoted to the study, building/maintenance, and performance of early keyboard instruments and their repertoire – harpsichord, clavichord, fortepiano, and historically-based organs.
