An exhibition of artwork from young artists in Southeast Michigan who currently reside in the juvenile justice system. Their creative works speak to their lived experiences, the system that currently holds them and the futures they imagine for themselves and their loved ones.

Youth Arts Alliance offers high-quality, trauma-informed creative writing, print-making, movement, theatre, expressive art, comix, horticulture, photography, mosaic and mural workshops to youth in the juvenile justice system in Jackson, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

Youth Arts Alliance uses creativity as a tool to alter potential for those in juvenile detention and residential treatment facilities by providing safe spaces for self-expression, collaboration and celebration, profoundly transforming the trajectory of individuals and their impact on society.

This exhibition is a collaboration among Detroit Street Filling Station, Youth Arts Alliance, and Prison Creative Arts Project.
