The Lubin-Tate Formal Group Law and Field Extensions

In this talk I will introduce Formal Group Laws, and sketch how a particular sort of Formal Group Law can be used to construct fully ramified extensions of local fields. I will then describe the analogy between this construction and its global analog the theory of Complex Multiplication. Speaker(s): Andy Gordon (University of Michigan)
