Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Henrik Karapetyan holds a doctorate in violin performance from U-M, is a member of the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, and is active as a folk, Gypsy and jazz violinist throughout the midwest. Pianist Xavier Suarez currently resides in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he leads the active career of a soloist, collaborator and teacher. Having performed together since 2010, the Karapetyan-Suarez Duo will present a program focusing mostly on classical compositions by 19th and 20th century composers of Armenian origin.
