The Campus Philharmonia Orchestra presents a program in which music inspired by folk tunes and dances serves as the narrator of meaningful stories. The program starts with incidental music of L’ Arlesienne by Bizet. Dance music then takes the stage with the Serenade Lyrique by Elgar, and the Valse Triste by Sibelius. Finally, the program ends with Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slave, a piece that combines Serbian folk songs with the Russian national anthem, celebrating the triumph of the Slavonic people over tyranny.

The Campus Symphony Orchestra performs a program of orchestral favorites inspired by singing. The program opens with the festive overture to Wagner’s opera The Meistersinger, followed by Rachmaninov’s passionate and lyrical Vocalise. The program concludes with Mendelssohn’s solemn “Reformation” Symphony.
