This event will be partially a talk, and partially a focused conversation; graduates with any mathematical background are encouraged to attend. The purpose of this event is to clarify the notion of a principal bundle by considering the particular case of circle bundles. We will begin by discussing circle bundles in a purely topological context, and then we will expand into the worlds of differential and algebraic geometry.
