The Student Combinatorics Seminar has had a running theme of Quivers, with previous talks highlighting their representations and invariants. Continuing this theme, I will discuss quiver mutation and the problem of quiver mutation equivalence. Quiver mutation is a local transformation we can perform at a chosen vertex, with all such transformations generating a group action on quivers. We will learn how to perform quiver mutation from the safety of our own homes, and discuss several invariants that can (sometimes) be used to distinguish mutation classes. We'll conclude with an explicit algorithm for the 3 vertex case.
