There is a classical bijection between Standard Young Tableaux with the shape of a 2 by n rectangle and Dyck paths of semilength n. In recent years, it has been shown that there exists a bijection between all SYT with n boxes and a certain class of Dyck paths. We'll discuss some of the necessary background to understand a proof of this result and give an outline of the proof. If time permits, we'll also discuss results on bijections between classes of Motzkin paths and SYT.
