Meet with the course instructor and its former students.
The course is aimed towards development of Advanced Mid proficiency in reading, writing, and listening as well as at least Intermediate Mid skills in speaking. Semester-long translation project with Ukraine-based non-profit media organization UkraЇner is one of the highlights of this course: you will be working directly with editors in Ukraine and your work will be published. No midterm or final exams, short texts, engaging vocabulary development activities, and flexible approach to course schedule and format makes this course a valuable part of your UofM experience. Example of one of our former student published translations see here: https://ukrainer.net/egg-as-an-art-object/.
