Summer Carillon Concert: Annette Wright
At Lurie Tower, Annette Wright (St. Mary of Redford Catholic Church, Detroit) performs the seventh and last of our "7 at 7" Monday night carillon concerts. Bring your picnic blanket to Eda U. Gerstacker Grove on North Campus!
The annual series takes place at 7 PM on Mondays from June 21 to August 9, featuring performers from Michigan and around the U.S. playing either Burton or Lurie Tower. Concerts are free and family-friendly. The carillon is an outdoor instrument, and attendees are requested to maintain social distance in the outdoor listening areas surrounding the towers. Attendees are required to follow the University of Michigan, Washtenaw County, Michigan state, and federal guidelines for large outdoor gatherings.

BIOGRAPHY:
Annette Wright has been a pastoral musician for over 40 years, most recently serving as organist and carillonist at St. Mary of Redford Catholic Church in Detroit. She attended Oakland University and Marygrove College, graduating Magna cum laude with a Bachelors
Degree in Sacred Music in 2004. She is currently back at Oakland University for continuing studies on the carillon with Dennis Curry, associate professor and carillonneur at Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church.
Annette served as chapter director for the Detroit Chapter – National Association of Musicians for seven years, as well as several years on the Chorister’s Guild Board – Detroit, and is a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs of North America and the American Guild of Organists. In her free time, Annette loves to travel the world and has been to 17 different countries. She also loves to knit, read, and enjoys time with her family.
