Circle Homeomorphisms

We will talk about rotation numbers and what a rational or irrational rotation number tells you about circle homeomorphisms. We will discuss a theorem of Poincare about when these homeomorphisms are (semi-)conjugate to a rotation as well as a counterexample by Denjoy. Speaker(s): Christopher Zhang (University of Michigan)
