Given a mixed characteristic family of smooth proper schemes, it is well-known that the failure of smooth and proper base change theorems "causes" various pathology phenomena. In my talk I'll explain how a piece in prismatic cohomology gives rise to a "universal" pathology, and show some consequences. This is an ongoing work with Tong Liu. Speaker(s): Shizhang Li (UM)
