Since graduating from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science (BS) focused in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience, Ashley has been on a mission to find innovative solutions to reduce health disparities and increase healthcare access to minority and vulnerable populations. She currently serves as a Project Coordinator for the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Equity Grant at MPHI, a Michigan-based and nationally engaged, non-profit public health institute. Ashley is also pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Population and Health Sciences at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health. Throughout her career, Ashley has fostered community-based and equity-centered approaches to program management, research, and leadership. Join us on September 30th for an in-person Q&A with Ashley — she’s coming to campus to offer advice about grad school, health advocacy work, and how to pursue a purpose to create a more equitable world.

About Ashley:

Ashley is the Project Coordinator for the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Equity Grant at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Equity and Minority Health (OEMH), and the Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI). In her role she serves as the grant manager and develops and implements equity-centered activities to improve vaccine access and reduce vaccine hesitancy in minority populations across Michigan. Prior to her role with OEMH/MPHI, Ashley served as the Engagement Coordinator for the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program at Henry Ford Health. There, she shaped the participant journey from outreach to retention. Also, she established their Community Advisory Board to collaborate and share best practices from stakeholders in the Metro Detroit area.

Ashley received her Bachelor of Science from Michigan in 2017. While on campus, she worked with the Center for Campus Involvement and interned with Wolverine Pathways. Additionally, she was a Peer Mentor for the Second Year Experience at Stockwell Hall. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Public Health in Population and Health Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Her studies focus on the intersection of epidemiology, health policy, leadership and health equity. In her free time, Ashley enjoys giving back to the Michigan community, volunteering through community organizations, and traveling.
