This workshop will introduce you to the Globus service, a leading platform for secure data management, sharing, and collaboration in research environments. Through an interactive lab, we will explore some features and functionalities, including how to access Globus, finding a collection, transferring data, choosing transfer options and we’ll briefly address error handling. This workshop serves as a starting point for researchers to manage data, aid in building workflows, and foster collaborations across institutions for researchers.
This course assumes access to a web browser to connect to Globus. Some familiarity with graphical file transfer tools such as CyberDuck, WinSCP or Filezilla would be helpful but not essential. We will provide access to a test Globus collection during the class.
