1. Presentation: Project Overviews
- Great Lakes 2 (GL2): status updates on U-M’s next-generation open HPC cluster, including hardware procurement, expanded CPU/GPU capacities, and the phased transition plan from legacy environments.
- Wolverine Shield (CUI/CMMC Service Rollout): an overview of U-M’s new secure computing environment designed to support research projects handling CUI data and federal NIST 800-171 security requirements. Built on Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government, Wolverine Shield will provide a managed framework compliant up to CMMC Level 2.
- Research Data Straits: ARC’s new data lifecycle management service designed to help researchers manage their data efficiently across storage systems (Turbo, Locker, Data Den) and optimize costs and reduce risks
- Secure Health Computing: Updates on Armis2, plans for the upcoming Dunes cluster, and expanded capabilities for Protected Health Information (PHI) HPC and AI research.
- Scaling Storage to 2030: How ARC plans to accommodate exponential data growth and manage 100+ Petabytes of campus research data through 2030.

2. Question & Answer session: Bring any and all questions for project leads and ARC leadership: what research IT challenges are you facing that you think ARC does not address? Are you outgrowing the GPU setup in your office? Curious about post-award data sharing? We want to hear from you!

3. Casual Office Hours & Networking: In-person attendees are invited to chat one-on-one with the ARC team and unit IT reps about your specific research projects, technical needs, or onboarding questions. For online attendees seeking research and coding support, CoderSpaces offers weekly office hours over Zoom for all skill levels.
