The biannual Charles F. Fraker Conference is organized by doctoral students in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor in honor of Professor Emeritus of Spanish Charles F. Fraker. Originally a venue for graduate students of Hispanic Studies to meet and discuss the subjects of their research, the conference has grown to include the work of students of many other fields and disciplines. In previous years, the Charles F. Fraker Conference has featured as its keynote speakers intellectuals such as Jacques Lezra, Alberto Moreiras, Jacques Rancière, Bill Brown, Michael Taussig, WJT Mitchell, and Robert T. Tally Jr. This year, we will enjoy the presence of professor Eduardo Cadava for our keynote presentation. Past conferences have attracted graduate student panelists from such universities as Yale, Tulane, Cleveland State, Western Michigan, Brigham Young, and Western Ontario.

The conference will take place on the 6-7th October 2023 at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and features Dr. Eduardo Cadava, Philip Mayhew Professor of English
